During the summer of going into my junior year, I volunteered at the Central Park Zoo, where I spent my days as a Discovery Guide. I introduced tourists to the zoo, helped them find their way around the zoo, but for majority of the day I spent time at stations that were set up all throughout the zoo. At these stations I encouraged tourists, but mostly children, to come up and engage with certain activities/objects that were at the station. These activities were educational, so I tried to teach the visitors information that would stick with them for a while.
During my junior year I was accepted to be a part of an internship at AMNH, which stands for the American Musuem of Natural History. During this internship I spent alot of time researching about certain topics which varied from student to student. I chose to learn more about the traditional Gods of China, and the Indian Caste system. Even though I am more of a math person, anthropology interests me as well because I find it very interesting to learn about different cultures and traditions.
